The Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF) continues active implementation of "Community-based Social Service Delivery" Project, funded by Japan Social Development Fund through the World Bank.

On July 31, 2019, a solemn opening of the social dormitory for internally displaced persons was held in the city of Vilnogirsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. The first residents received the keys to the new rooms. The dormitory, located at 29, Ustenka str., was reconstructed within the framework ‘Promotion of social infrastructure  development. USIF V’ Project, implemented by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund with the use of German Government funds provided through KfW Development Bank.

On 29 July 2019 Senior Project Manager from KfW Frankfurt headquarters Larissa Schönfeld and Project Coordinator from KfW Bureau in Kyiv Vitali Shmeriga visited objects, located in Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region) and renovated under ‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF V’ Project in order to provide internally displaced persons with housing.

In the course of staying in Ukraine, dedicated to establishment of effective interaction between USIF and International Implementation Consultants in the framework of “Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development. USIF VI” Project , Senior Project Manager of the German Development Bank KfW Larissa Schönfeld on 26 July 2019 payed a visit to Kiev Kindergarten №159.

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution, envisaging setting up of the separate housing stock for temporary IDPs residence and approval of the Rules for provision of housing facilities from this stock to IPDs, is made publicly available.

On June-July 2019 Odessa territorial communities continue conducting community forums and setting up local initiative groups (Subprojects Implementation Partners (SIPs).

Ternopil territorial communities have nominated members of the local initiative groups or Subprojects Implementation Partners (SIPs) at community forums held in June, 2019.

A solemn opening of the apartment building for internally displaced persons was held on June 26, in Pavlohrad (Dnipropetrovsk region). Due to effective implementation by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund of USIF V Project, funded by the German Government through KfW Development Bank, 42 internally displaced persons were provided with housing in 19 fully-equipped apartments (14 one-room, 4 two-room and 1 three-room).

This year strategic (monitoring) session was held on 12-14.06.2019 in of the town of Svyatogirsk, located in the Donetsk region, which had been included in the list of regions of implementation of at least two large-scale USIF projects.

The press conference devoted to provision of housing for internally displaced persons in Kharkiv region was held on June 20, 2019. It was mentioned there, in particular, that the new housing in six renovated buildings in Zolochiv, Dergachi, Izyum, Krasnograd, Lozova and Bogodukhiv will receive 272 internally displaced persons, 54 of which have already moved to their new homes. Major repairs to improve the living conditions of displaced persons were made in 16 apartments and 99 rooms under USIF V Project, implemented by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund with use of grant  funds of the German Government, provided through the KfW Development Bank.

The first community forum within the framework of the “Community-Based Social Service Delivery” Project was held in Ternopil region. Thіs positive practice was set by Saranchuki amalgamated territorial community. The main goal of the forum was to discuss matters related to participation in the Project and the most acute local problems as well as possible ways of their solution by means of implementation of community-based social protection services subprojects with support of USIF, the World Bank and Japan Social Development Fund.
