The apartment building in Pavlograd opened its doors for internally displaced persons
A solemn opening of the apartment building for internally displaced persons was held on June 26, in Pavlohrad (Dnipropetrovsk region). Due to effective implementation by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund of USIF V Project, funded by the German Government through KfW Development Bank, 42 internally displaced persons were provided with housing in 19 fully-equipped apartments (14 one-room, 4 two-room and 1 three-room). In order to create social housing, major repairs were carried out in a two-storeyed building on Lyvarna 18, street. In the past, this building had served as a dormitory for «Litmash» plant workers. It had been built in 1972 with centralized water supply, but without drainage. For almost 20 years, the building was not used and was in an abandoned state.
The opening ceremony was attended, in particular, by Pavlohrad town Mayor Mr. Anatoliy Vershyna, director of USIF Eastern Regional Office Mr. Serhii Kadygrob and General Consul of Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk (office in Dnipro) Wolfgang Mössinger. In the course of that event, they also talked to the present journalists and provided answers to their numerous questions.
In Dnipropetrovsk region in general, 97 apartments and 13 rooms in dormitories (about 270 places for settlement) were renovated for internally displaced persons in 5 housing facilities, located in towns of Pavlohrad, Kamyanske, Verkhniodniprovsk, Vilnogirsk and village of Chumaky. The amount of investments in renovation of housing for IDPs is about 63 million UAH.
4 schools, 1 kindergarten in the aforementioned settlements and Verkhivtseve psychoneurological boarding institution were renovated as well. The total amount of investments in social infrastructure objects of Dnipropetrovsk region in the framework of USIF V Project is about 91.4 million UAH.
