In the framework of visits of the Deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF) Oleg Ovchinnikov to Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions and the Director of USIF Eastern Regional Office Serhii Kadygrob to Dnipropetrovsk region  (29-30.05.2019) memorandums on cooperation with local authorities and community representatives regarding basic subprojects under USIF VI Project were concluded in all regions of implementation.

In the framework of the visit of the deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund Oleg Ovchinnikov to Lugansk and Kharkiv regions (21-22.05.2019) memorandums on cooperation with local authorities and community representatives on subprojects implementation under USIF VI Project in these two regions were signed.

The working meeting regarding «Community-based Social Service Delivery» Project implementation was held on 23 May 2019 in Odesa Regional State Administration on the initiative of the Project Implementing Agency - the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund.

The working meeting with Ternopil Regional State Administration team, headed by the Deputy Chairman of RSA Svitlana Bezpoptseva, was held on May 23, 2019 in Ternopil in the framework of «Community-based Social Service Delivery» Project implementation.

Starting from May this year, the scope of areas in which Germany cooperates with and provides assistance to Ukraine will be expanded to include support in advancement of decentralization reform by investing in rural healthcare facilities renovation.

The Community-Based Social Service Delivery Project, financed by Japan Social Development Fund through the World Bank, was officially launched by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund in Odesa region.  Due to the Project implementation the amalgamated territorial communities, self-governments/local authorities of Odessa region will be able to provide communities residents with prioritized social services.

The second in this year meeting of the Supervisory Board (SB) of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF) was held on April 22, 2019 in Kyiv. SB considered and endorsed the preliminary list of objects for implementation in the framework of USIF VI Project. Taking into account available financial resources, 15 basic subprojects intended for internally displaced persons (IDPs) housing with the highest ranking were selected on the results of assessment of subproject proposals, which had been submitted by interested communities in January-March this year.

To mark the official launch of the Community-Based Social Service Delivery Project an information seminar was held in Ternopil on April 18, 2019. The event was conducted with participation of Stepan Barna, Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration; Mykola Shambir, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine; representatives of the World Bank, Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, Ukrainian Social Investment Fund and 17 amalgamated territorial communities of the region.

Within "Construction Works" component of phase II of USIF V Project, being implemented in cities of Kyiv and Lviv, in the 1th quarter of the year 2019, renovation and construction works were completed in Lviv dormitory, where 25 IDPs out of 80 planned are already settled, and in 3 Kyiv kindergartens, namely:

USIF promotes integration of internally displaced persons (IDPs) into hosting communities, not only through creation of housing for them, but also by introducing new approaches to social work.
