USIF Supervisory Board endorsed the preliminary list of objects for implementation in the framework of USIF VI Project and approved the results of Ukrainian Social Investment Fund activities in the first quarter of the year 2019
The second in this year meeting of the Supervisory Board (SB) of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF) was held on April 22, 2019 in Kyiv.
SB considered and endorsed the preliminary list of objects for implementation in the framework of USIF VI Project. Taking into account available financial resources, 15 basic subprojects intended for internally displaced persons (IDPs) housing with the highest ranking were selected on the results of assessment of subproject proposals, which had been submitted by interested communities in January-March this year. Each basic subproject has its own pair as a secondary subproject, intended for improvement of social infrastructure institution, such as a school or a kindergarten, and located within the territory of the community, where housing for IPDs will be renovated/created in the course of basic subproject implementation. Eight subprojects for implementation (four basic objects and, respectively, four secondary ones) are located in Zaporizhzhia (towns of Melitopol and Tokmak, village of Lantseve) and in Kharkiv (towns of Chuguiv, Izyum and Kupiansk) regions. Six basic and secondary objects for implementation were selected in Luhansk (towns of Severodonetsk and Kreminna, urban type village Novoaydar) region and four objects in Dnipropetrovsk (towns of Pershotravensk and Kryviy Rih) and Donetsk (Mariupol) regions. Three pairs of basic and secondary subprojects (town of Lyman, Donetsk region), (village of Verbove, Dnipropetrovsk region), (urban type village Zolochiv, Kharkiv region) are included in the reserve list of subprojects.
SB members supported USIF proposal and approved slightly amended version of Annex 2 ‘Special provisions that further regulate implementation of the project “Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development (USIF VI)”, BMZ-No.: 2014 69 014 financed by German Government through KfW’ to USIF Operational Manual as well as candidatures of auditors, that would conduct a financial audit of USIF for the last 18 months of its operation.
In addition to that SB considered and approved the report on USIF activities in the first quarter of the year 2019. In accordance with this report, within "Construction Works" component of phase I of USIF V Project, being implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions, renovation and construction works (RCWs) were completed at 4 objects in the first quarter of 2019.
Within "Construction Works" component of phase II of USIF V Project, being implemented in cities of Kyiv and Lviv, RCWs in Lviv dormitory, where 25 IDPs out of 80 planned are already settled, and in 3 Kyiv kindergartens were completed in the reporting period.
