Phone us Bibliohubs have been set up in Vylkivska Community of Odessa region
On June 13, 2023, Vylkivska Territorial Community (Odesa Region) together with the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund, solemnly opened new social facilities, renovated and equipped within the framework of the World Bank Project "The Community-Based Social Service Delivery", being financed from the grant funds provided to Ukraine by the Government of Japan through Japan Social Development Fund.
The total cost of the micro-project, implemented in Vylkivska Community, equals to 140 thousand US dollars.
As part of the micro-project, repair works were carried out in the premises of 3 libraries: Vylkovo city library for Children (city of Vylkovo), Myrne village library (the village of Myrne of the Vylkivska Community ) and Desantne village library (the village of Desantne of the Vylkivska Community) to set up bibliohubs. The required furniture and equipment as well as toys, educational games, equipment for the sensory room of the Center, sports equipment and inventory were purchased for those libraries and Vylkivska Community Social Services Delivery Center.
Bibliohubs will become centers of development, social communication and leisure for residents of the Community settlements.
"The University of the Third Age" Social Project will be implemented there to adapt the elderly people generation to modern social life, support their physical and intellectual health, promote employment and unification, expand their vision, improve the quality of life, organize activities that create conditions for their communication, self-realization and active participation in Community life.
The following faculties will be created and function:
- faculty of life competence and awareness (legal, financial, computer literacy);
- faculty of a healthy lifestyle: lectures and practical classes (physical exercises, aerobics, training on simulators, etc.);
- faculty of tailoring, sewing and clothing repair;
- faculty of applied arts (decorative painting, applications, embroidery, pottery, weaving, etc.);
- faculty of fruit- and vegetable-growing.
Сhildren's development and activity areas, - "BiblioNanny" will become operational in Bibliohubs.
The new service "BiblioNanny" is an opportunity for parents to take care of children's creative, informational, educational and developmental potential in a safe place as well as to have free time to solve various personal affairs.
Thіs service will help to create favorable conditions for children's social adaptation, development of intelligence and creative abilities. This is an opportunity to provide useful and interesting leisure time for children.
The "BiblioNanny" program includes the following areas of work with children:
- development of general abilities;
- development of language activity;
- conducting role-playing games;
- fine motor skills training;
- mastering of elementary combinatorics and mathematical concepts;
- familiarization with the surrounding world, development of creative abilities and imagination;
- familiarization of children with various artistic texts, works of folklore, simple author's works available for their age.
The new library service will be available for children aged 3 to 6 years.
It is planned to hold group social services events such as: trainings, group classes, discussions, round tables, lectures, etc. in bibliohubs premises.
Bibliohubs operation will help to increase the number of families who have minimized and overcome difficult life circumstances, provide social support, rehabilitation and integration of elderly people and persons with special needs into the active life of the Community and society.
