The cardiology department has been renovated in Kryvyy Rih at the expense of the grant funds of the German Government
The cardiology department of Kryvyi Rih City Clinical Hospital No. 2 was modernized as part of "Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development (USIF VIIІ)"Project funded by the German Government through KfW.
On April 24, 2024, it was officially opened. The event was attended by Secretary of the City Council - Acting Mayor of Kryvyy Rih Yuriy VILKUL, Deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund Ksenia PIDNEBESNA, Director of First USIF Regional Office Artur BRODZINSKY, managers and staff of the medical institution.
The total cost of construction works and related expenses amounted to about UAH 35.4 million. Those funds were used to overhaul the premises with a total area of about 1225 m². Stained glass windows with tempered glass glazing and combined door blocks were installed, internal fit-out works were performed and internal engineering networks (water supply, electricity, heating and ventilation) were replaced in particular. An oxygen supply system was installed, a central monitoring station and a medical staff call system were set up, and bathrooms for people with limited mobility were arranged.
Additionally, a simple shelter for the staff and patients of Kryvyy Rih City Clinical Hospital No. 2 was repaired to accommodate about 50 people.
Medical equipment and furniture worth UAH 18.7 million were purchased and delivered to the cardiology department to improve the provision of medical services in addition. A central monitoring system, 47 patient monitors, 5 instrument racks, 5 volumetric infusion pumps, 20 syringe infusion pumps, 47 electronically adjustable functional medical resuscitation beds, 47 medical bedside tables, 3 medical examination folding couches, and 2 hydraulically adjustable medical tables were supplied in particular.
The department employs 10 doctors and 21 nurses who serve almost 515 thousand residents of the Kryvyy Rih territorial community.
Over the past few years, the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund has financed the renovation of a housing facility for internally displaced persons, a kindergarten, two outpatient clinics, and this cardiology department in Kryvyy Rih. Renovation of another hospital and outpatient clinic is underway.
