Community-Based Social Service Delivery Project officially launched in Ternopil region
To mark the official launch of the Community-Based Social Service Delivery Project an information seminar was held in Ternopil on April 18, 2019. The event was conducted with participation of Stepan Barna, Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration; Mykola Shambir, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine; representatives of the World Bank, Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, Ukrainian Social Investment Fund and 17 amalgamated territorial communities of the region.
The Project is aimed at supporting the amalgamated territorial communities to strengthen their capacities in providing high-quality social services to residents.
During the event it was pointed out that the Government of Japan through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development awarded a grant to the Government of Ukraine for the total sum of 2850.0 thousand USD in order to improve provision of social services to vulnerable groups of population (older people, people with disabilities, families in difficult living conditions).
The project also aims to improve the access of residents to the social and communal infrastructure of communities According to the Grant Agreement, Ukrainian Social Investment Fund is responsible for Project implementation on behalf of the Government of Ukraine.
Seminar participants had an opportunity to be informed about the Project, its expected results and next stages of implementation, discuss the social protection integrated system implementation in the course of decentralization process, communicate with experts and exchange ideas on the further Project activities, discuss communities priority problems that could be resolved within the framework of the Project.
