Modernized Social Services Delivery Centers in Bilyaivska and Yaskivska Communities of Odessa region have become operational
On June 14, 2023 the Social Services Delivery Center in Bilyaivska town Community, established within the framework of the World Bank Project "The Community-Based Social Service Delivery", being financed from the grant funds provided to Ukraine by the Government of Japan through Japan Social Development Fund, as well as the new Social Services Delivery Center (SSDC) in Yaskivska village Community of Odessa region were solemnly opened.
The total cost of each micro-project equals to 140,000 US dollars.
As part of the implemented micro-project of Bilyaivska Community, the overhaul of part of the premises for the children's sports school was carried out in order to accommodate "Rodynne Kolo/Family Circle" SSDC. The overhaul included arrangement of new walls, their plastering and painting, replacement of the floor, doors and windows.
An elevator for people with reduced mobility was installed, computer equipment was purchased (6 laptops, a Wi-Fi router, a printer, 2 monoblocs and 2 uninterruptible power supplies), a set of office and kitchen furniture, developing children's games for the work of speech therapists and psychologists, as well as 6 sewing machines. In addition to that, within the Project framework, 6 electric scooters were handed over to social workers and specialists, who provide social services in the community.
The aforementioned Center will provide the following services: information, counseling, social adaptation, social integration and reintegration, mediation, representation of interests, social support to families in difficult life circumstances, social support to families raising orphans and children deprived of parental care, care at home, natural aid, social prevention, emergency (crisis) intervention. It is expected that its functioning will contribute to increasing coverage of vulnerable groups of the population with social services and improving their quality.
In the course of implementation of the micro-project in Yaskivska village community, a part of the first-floor premises in the administration building of the former Troitska village council was overhauled (insulation, plastering and painting of the walls; replacement of the floor with tiles; replacement of doors) to accommodate the Social Services Delivery Center. Modern office equipment (7 computers; 5 printers; 3 laptops, 7 uninterruptible power stations, touch panel Starboard TE –XP-75/TE -XP1-75 and other equipment) for the Social Protection Unit of the village Council and for the administrative staff office on the second floor of the building was supplied. The furniture (4 tables for specialists, two sofas for visitors, chairs) and children's equipment (toys, board games and equipment for activities with children) were purchased and installed as well. 3 bicycles and 3 electric scooters were provided for the community as part of the Project to be used by social workers and specialists of the social protection unit and SSDC.
The Center will render social services to vulnerable people, counseling for families, youth and children, carry out social work to prevent and solve the problems of families and people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances on the territory of Yaskivska village community.
