In December 2020 USIF launches implementation of the new Project, aimed at improvement conditions of vocational training in Ukraine
At the end of July this year USIF and German state development Bank KfW concluded Grant and Financing Agreement as well as Separate Agreement, envisaging implementation of the third component of the Program of vocational education and training reform in Ukraine (EU4Skills).
Above-mentioned Program component (hereinafter - the Project) concerns modernisation of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system in Ukraine. It will focus on the renovation and modernisation of VET schools and the procurement of equipment. The goal is to create a modern VET infrastructure that contributes to increased attractiveness of VET education for students and lays the foundation for effective, demand driven education that equips students with skills that the Ukrainian labour market seeks.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MoES) is the beneficiary of the Project.
MoES has defined seven focus regions on which the investments will mainly concentrate: Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolayiv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Lviv, Chernivtsi.
In total, approximately 15 VET schools shall be modernized in the context of the Project.
The Project and the Program as a whole are funded by European Union and its Member States: Germany, Finland and Poland.
Funds for implementation of the Project are provided through the German State Development Bank KfW.
