Slobozhanska outpatient clinic of general practice and family medicine starts its functioning in the new premises
The new premises of Slobozhanska outpatient clinic in Dnipropetrovsk region were solemnly opened on July 16, 2024. The energy-efficient reconstruction of the building of the former sanitary-epidemiological station was performed to provide the ambulatory with the new premises. Currently, in addition to family doctors, an ultrasound diagnostician as well as doctors of narrow specialization: an otolaryngologist, a surgeon and a neurologist (depending on the needs of the population) will be able to work in the ambulatory.
The opening ceremony was attended by Volodymyr Orlov, First Deputy Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Military Administration, Ivan Kaminskyi, village head, members of the executive committee of Slobozhanska village council, consultants from the First Regional Office of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund, representatives of the construction and designing organizations, the staff of the ambulatory and interested local residents.
The following works were carried out to provide the outpatient clinic with modern and energy-efficient facilities:
- the premises of the first and second floors with a total area of 544 m² were renovated;
- 158 m² basement shelter was arranged;
- the exterior walls and foundation were decorated and insulated, the pavement was laid, windows and doors were replaced;
- the roof was overhauled, a drainage system was installed, water supply, sewage, heating and ventilation systems, lighting and electrical equipment were replaced;
- an elevator hall was added and an elevator was installed;
- porches and ramps were arranged;
- internal works were performed and plumbing was installed.
The total cost of construction works and related expenses amounted to about UAH 34 million.
In addition to that, in order to improve the provision of medical services, laboratory and diagnostic equipment for a total sum of UAH 3.16 million, including an automatic hematology analyzer, a semi-automatic biochemical analyzer, a 3-channel electrocardiograph, a diagnostic ultrasound system, a device for phototherapy of newborns, a transcutaneous jaundice detector, an ophthalmoscope, and physiotherapy ultrasound devices, was procured for the ambulatory.
The management and staff of the outpatient clinic and the primary health care center participated in the training program, organized by USIF to improve professional knowledge and skills of the partner institutions' staff.
The outpatient clinic now has 2 rooms for narrow specialists, including an ultrasound doctor and, if necessary, an otolaryngologist, surgeon and neurologist. The outpatient clinic serves nearly 15,000 residents, including about 2,000 internally displaced persons.
The outpatient clinic will employ 10 doctors and 18 medical staff members, who will now see patients in spacious rooms with modern equipment.
The modernization of the outpatient clinic was carried out within the framework of ‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development (USIF VIII)’ Project, funded by the German Government through the German Development Bank KfW and implemented by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund.
The community, in its turn, funded installation of fire safety, communication, burglar alarm and video surveillance systems as well as landscaping works near the outpatient clinic. It also purchased necessary furniture, computer and office equipment, medical equipment and air conditioners for the clinic for a total sum of UAH 11.7 million.
