Novopokrovska outpatient clinic reopened after energy modernization
The outpatient clinic of general practice and family medicine in Novopokrovka village, Chuhuiv district, Kharkiv region, has been overhauled within the framework of ‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development - Improvement of Primary Healthcare in Rural Areas (USIF VII)’ Project, being funded by the German Government through KfW and implemented by Ukrainian Social Investment Fund.
On June 4, 2024, a modest but solemn opening of the renovated outpatient clinic was held. The event was attended by Olena Slabinska, Village Mayor, Artur Brodzinsky, Director of the First USIF Regional Office, representatives of local authorities, local NGOs and interested local residents.
The total cost of construction works and related expenses amounted to about UAH 16.7 million. Those funds were used to overhaul the building's exterior and interior, which allowed the facility to be upgraded from class F of the energy efficiency scale to class B.
The main measures that allowed to improve the energy efficiency of the institution:
- exterior walls were decorated and insulated;
- the aboveground and underground parts of the basement were insulated;
- the attic floor was insulated;
- windows were replaced with energy-saving metal-plastic ones;
- exterior doors were replaced;
- internal engineering networks and heating devices were replaced.
Bathrooms, including those for people with limited mobility as well as porches and a ramp were installed.
To improve the provision of medical services, medical equipment worth UAH 463,400, including an automatic hematology analyzer, 4 infrared thermometers, a non-contact infrared thermometer, a nebulizer, a patient monitor, a 12-channel cardiograph, rapid tests and personal protective equipment, was purchased and delivered to the outpatient clinic.
The outpatient clinic of general practice and family medicine in Novopokrovka provides services for more than 9,000 residents, including 3,000 of internally displaced persons.
