The EU and the Government of Ukraine modernise Kremenchuk Higher Vocational School No.7

On 6 February, the official opening of the Training and Practice Centre "Wide Profile Turner" and the modernised training workshops of the Kremenchuk Higher Vocational School No.7 took place as part of the third component of the “EU4Skills: Better Skills for Modern Ukraine” programme.
The institution underwent major renovations and state-of-the-art professional equipment was provided. The total investment, provided by the state and the European Union, exceeded €1.4 million.
"I am pleased to see such improvements at the Kremenchuk Vocational School today. The modernisation of facilities, the innovative machinery, and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies establish necessary high-quality conditions for an advanced education and professional training matching the labour market needs. We must remember that vocational school students are the future of key industries, and their knowledge and skills are necessary for Ukraine’s recovery and economic growth. That is why the EU will continue to support the modernisation of the vocational education system, helping young people acquire in-demand competencies for the country's reconstruction towards its path to EU accession," emphasized Henrik Huitfeldt, Head of the Public Finance, Business Support and Social Policies Section at the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
In the framework of the EU4Skills, over €1.2 million were spent on insulating the building’s exterior walls, foundation, and basement, installing a new roof with insulation and drainage, carrying out comprehensive repairs of window openings, and purchasing new equipment.
Together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Training and Practice Centre "Wide Profile Turner" was equipped with 42 units of equipment worth over €260,000. From now on, students will be able to study on modern milling and turning machines with numerical control, master fibre lasers, and other high-tech facilities.
"The transformation of education in vocational training is a step towards preparing personnel who can work effectively in the rapidly changing labour market. Introducing modern equipment into the educational process provides students with not only theoretical knowledge, but also the practical skills required for success in their professions. This is of significant importance not only for their personal development but also for the economic progress of the country," said Dmytro Zavgorodniy, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Digital Transformation, Digital Development, and Digitalisation.
"Vocational education is one of the key elements in the recovery and development of the country. We support institutions in this sector to move forward, ensuring that the training of specialists is modern and highly aligned with labour market demands. We greatly value the support of international partners in upgrading the infrastructure and equipment of vocational education institutions," commented Acting Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut. "As of today, the region hosts 13 modernised and fully equipped training and practice centres based in vocational education institutions. Together, we can continue to effectively implement the project for our shared goal – ensuring access to quality education."
