Two vocational education institutions of Vinnytsia region have become participants of the EU4Skills programme
On 7 September 2021, the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund, State Educational Institutions “Vinnytsia Interregional Higher Vocational School”, “Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of Services” and the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration signed memoranda to modernise infrastructure of those educational institutions. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the German State Development Bank KfW.
"We believe that the introduction of new technologies and the purchase of equipment in Vocational schools in Vinnytsia region is an important step to ensure quality education in educational institutions in the region, which will undoubtedly contribute to meeting the needs of the labour market through training of the qualified personnel" said Frederik Coene, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.
According to the signed memorandum, the Vinnytsia Interregional Higher Vocational School plans to carry out repair works and purchase equipment worth EUR 1.15 million. With these funds, the institution’s training laboratories will be updated and equipped in the professions: "Information processing and software operator" and "Electromechanician for repair and maintenance of computers”.
The Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of Services plans to repair and purchase equipment worth EUR 1.05 million. With these funds, the training laboratories of the institution will be updated and equipped in the professions: "Chef-confectioner", "Hospitality Manager" and "Information processing and software operator".
"New and modern provision of institutions should improve the image of vocational education in the eyes of young people, draw their attention to working-class professions, as well as allow them to better train the students who have already chosen vocational education. I thank our foreign partners for their attention to the development of vocational education in Ukraine and for the support provided. I am confident that this initiative will accelerate Ukraine's integration into the European educational space and will not only update the material and technical base in selected institutions, but also positively affect the training of qualified personnel, teacher training and economy in general," said Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Ihor Harbaruk.
“Public authorities support and encourage vocational (technical) education institutions to participate in regional, All-Ukrainian and international investment projects, including the programme "EU4Skills: Better Skills for Modern Ukraine", funded by the European Union and implemented by the German State Development Bank KfW. The modernisation of the infrastructure of two vocational (technical) educational institutions of the region will help improve the quality of training of the skilled workers," added Serhiy Borzov, Head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration.
