Outpatient clinic in Zmiiv reopens after modernization
The Outpatient Clinic in Zmiiv (Kharkiv Oblast), modernized with grant funds of the German Government, was solemnly opened on September 28, 2023. The event was attended by Mayor Pavlo Holodnikov, the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF), local authorities and NGOs representatives as well as interested local residents.
Modernization of the facility was funded by USIF at the expense of grant funds of the German Government provided through KfW within the framework of ‘Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development - Improvement of Rural Basic Health. USIF VII’ Project.
The total cost of construction works and related expenses amounted to about UAH 8.7 million. These funds were used to replace windows, interior and exterior doors, repair floors, decorate walls and ceilings, replace heating, water supply and sewage systems as well as electrical networks and build a bathroom for people with limited mobility.
In addition, in order to improve the provision of medical services, an automatic hematology analyzer, a semi-automatic biochemistry analyzer, a coagulometer, a TS-Spinplus-8 centrifuge, micropipettes, various rapid tests and personal protective equipment for a total of about of UAH 709,000 were purchased for the institution.
The management and part of the outpatient clinic staff participated in the training program, which was also funded by USIF under the grant.
The town budget was ensuring financing of uninterrupted supply of electricity and water during performance of construction works, as well as procurement of medical and office furniture.
The renovated outpatient clinic in Zmiiv employs 11 doctors and 20 medical staff members, who will now see patients in spacious rooms with modern equipment. The outpatient clinic serves about 19,000 residents, including 5,400 of internally displaced persons.
